KCMO Morning Show BlogFriday, November 2, 2007This Week's Wrap Up
It's Friday, and that means we take the time to show you just what KMBZ thinks passes for content today. We don't do it to pick on them, we do it in the hopes they'll return to a higher standard. Unless of course, you think the way Tony, their weekly featured blogger thinks.
Not a good week for Kay Cronkite-Waldo-Barnes. First, Roll Call - the Capitol Hill magazine profiles her congressional race against Sam Graves for Missouri's 6th district. The spread predominately featured her cover shoot last year on a lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender advocacy magazine published in Kansas City. We're not sure why it's considered such a negative, dirty trick to highlight this fact. She proudly posed for and promoted the picture last year. We can't imagine why she isn't proud of it now. In other news, Lady Cronkite is pouting because Enterprise Rent-A-Car is supporting Sam Graves. Paybacks are hell when you beat up on already burdened business for even more tax money. Finally, we can't ignore what is now an admitted campaign by the Lady Cronkite's campaign advisor to discredit Mayor Mark Funkhouser. It seems a sad statement that she needs the city she once led to fail in an attempt to win an election. We applaud the legal team representing Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder for helping bring in the $12 million dollar verdict against the repugnant Fred Phelps and his Westbourough Baptist Church. We talked with one of the Snyder family attorneys, Sean Summers this week. Amazingly they're fighting pro-bono, so they're asking for your help. If you're so inclined - you may donate to the legal team here. We were honored to be invited to "M.C." the Mayor's Christmas Tree Lighting this year with Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jared Allen. The event happens the night after Thanksgiving, November 23 in the heart of Crown Center. Hope we'll see you there, and keep listening for more details on what you can win that night! See you next week with Tom Brokaw, U.N. Ambassador John Bolton and the Croc Hunter's widow Terri Irwin. Previous Posts
