You may or may not be following what has now become an amusing online/broadcast debate between Chris Stigall and a local blogger who has the regular ear of the Kansas City Star and radio station KMBZ each week. The blogger's mother is actively involved in the radical shake-down of Mayor Mark Funkhouser and Frances Semler by La Raza.

Today, Stigall again called on listeners to become informed about this bloggers history, positions and affiliations and his cozy relationships with local media in Kansas City. That prompted this reply from the widely-read and well promoted blogger.

Stigall responds :

My focus in this debate is simply - know with whom your news outlets affiliate and source for information. Listeners and readers need to know what this guy is all about. They need to read his blog. They need to know that he is regularly read, featured, highlighted, and promoted on KMBZ and within the halls of the Kansas City Star.

It is then that educated media consumers can choose the source of their local news. My leanings and opinions are clear and so are his. However, he has managed to work his way into supposed "journalists" daily reality, and somehow become an authority on truth. His are very liberal, radical, racist positions with which most Kansas Citians, and frankly Americans don't agree.

When this blog is cited and promoted as a source of news rather than opinion it is not simply dishonest. Rather, once honest brokers of news are now choosing ideology over factual reporting. I assure you, if I were ever quoted in a Star column or online, I would be referred to as "conservative talk show host" or "Republican-leaning" or "anti-immigration." No such qualifiers are ever given for our blogger friend.

Upon hearing his charges that I and my radio station were not abiding by federal broadcast guidelines, I personally wrote him and invited him on my program to challenge him on that assertion among others.

He declined, and instead used his blog to respond. Still today, he continues to swing at me via a blog rather than debate in an unfiltered, unedited conversation. He asserts I would somehow control the setting, yet a one-on-one debate on the air is fairly hard to control short of hanging up. Hanging up makes one seem weak and unable to debate - neither of which am I.

Someone always goes away sounding like the loser. Sometimes it's the host. Sometimes it's the guest. I'm willing to take that risk. How do you interpret refusing the debate altogether?

He'll tell you it's because I'm "small-time" that he passes on my show. Yet amazingly, he'll dedicate a lengthy attack of me on his blog. Who dedicates such a "widely read" blog to someone as insignificant as me?

I am educating people as to who he is and that major, once credible news outlets in this town now associate with him regularly and proudly. Now that his existence is being challenged as opposed to propped up, it's not as easy to lob radical, racial, personal attacks and lies. He no longer enjoys an unchallenged spotlight, and neither do those that promote him. I'll see to that.
