KC Board of Police Commissioners - A Cowardly Lot

Late Friday afternoon (5/23), the five members of Kansas City's Board of Police Commissioners upheld the firings of two quality, flawless police officers. The board was hopeful this story would go away by announcing their findings on a Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend, but they obviously don't know our show.

Mayor Funkhouser will join us Friday for our weekly chat at 7:40 to explain his position, but what of the other four members? Will they come on the public airwaves and explain their firing of two exemplary officers? We thought you should know who they are and where they work on the off chance you'd like to send a note or a voicemail. We always encourage you to be respectful, but letting our public servants know we're watching them and we don't like our police being railroaded to placate self-appointed, race-bating "community activists" is always important. Click on their names for email addresses or more specific information. Phone numbers listed below.

Meet the Press in Kansas City - it's embarrassing.

It has been a disastrous week for local news outlets in Kansas City. They're coming unraveled and undone by their own shoddy, corrupt, compromised coverage of local politicos.

We've spent the last week chronicling those in Kansas City who are supposed to be the officials in the game of campaigns and court rooms. But, like the NBA, our referees are compromised and corrupted by their own blind political leanings and irresponsible desire for ratings at all costs.

We were the only media outlet in print, TV, or radio to expose the embarrassing reporting by Fox 4's Linda Wagar and the deceptive media firm she featured. Our friends at Bottom Line Communications review the entire story. We're working to get our full audio coverage of this sham on our podcast page soon. Stay tuned.

We also found this unprecedented rebuke of a news outlet - in this case the Media Mafia - by a Jackson County judge who absolutely blisters them and bans them from his courtroom for good.

The final amazing piece of this sad puzzle comes from Derrek Donovan of the Falling Star. In the most honest writing by a member of that newspaper's staff, Donovan admits that the paper's leanings and incessant attacks on Johnson County DA Phil Kline and his supporters has grown to a level that is indisputable and egregious.
