Nancy Boyda - When Will She Apologize?

Kansas' second district representative Nancy Boyda disgraced herself and her constituents with her juvenile behavior Friday. Read the story from the Associated Press. So disgraceful was her behavior, the Washington Times editorialized about it today.

Contact Mrs. Boyda and remind her that despite her views on this war, Americans don't tolerate disrespect of our nation's heroes by their elected officials.

The New York Times opinion piece that's got everyone talking... Get this - apparently, we're winning in Iraq. Someone tell Boyda.

Ward Connerly of the American Civil Rights Institute joined the show to tell us about the lawsuit he's filed against Missouri's Attorney General Jay Nixon and Secretary of State Robin Carnahan. Read his press statement.

Listen tomorrow morning at 5:30 if you missed our interview with Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders. He promises that despite the county's fiscal trouble - read his lips, no new taxes! That said, some folks will have to lose their county jobs. Today's Star article features comments from former exec. Kathryn Shields who says there's no budget problem! You make the call.

Karen - In the Crossfire.

Lets start by saying Channel 9's Karen Kornacki is just fine. Knowing that, you can now enjoy the drama of this clip in the Royals clubhouse Friday night.

Tune in to the Rusty Humpries Show tonight on KCMO Talk Radio 710 (8-10PM). Stigall fills in for Rusty tonight with featured guest and noted Kansas City conservative Jack Cashill. Jack's been writing and investigating TWA Flight 800, and the explosion that he says was more than just an accident 11 years ago.

Yet one more of those stories that makes you say, "Yeah, like I'd ever get away with that." On the heels of the promoted pervert professors at UMKC, this is another head scratcher.

Noted sports writer and commentator Frank Deford joined us this morning about his brand new book "The Entitled." If you missed it, listen to the rebroadcast of the interview tomorrow morning at 6:10AM.

We introduced a new feature to our Monday morning line-up. Each week at 7:10 Republican political strategist Jeff Roe takes on Democrat political strategist Sean Spence in the "Monday Morning Match-Up." Both have run successful state wide and national campaigns and bring their perspectives in this weekly shoot-out on the issues of the day. Listen to the rebroadcast at 5:30AM tomorrow morning.

You might recall the day KCMO Talk Radio 710 went commercial free last month in an effort to raise money for Kansas City families in need through Operation Breakthrough. Listeners to KCMO rasied over $20,000 over 13 hours! Saturday, the staff went to Operation Breakthough to hand out food, toiletries and juice to hundreds of those in need. Your generous support of this cause gave hope to lots of folks and we saw it first hand this weekend....thank you again!

Back Online...Sorry for the delay.

Here's the sampler platter of subjects we've been tackling on the KCMO Morning Show:

Program note: Next week - Chiefs Radio Network's Bob Gretz from River Falls, Democrat Senator and presidential candidate Joe Biden, and the premiere of "Monday Morning Match-Up" with Democrat strategist/consultant Sean Spence and Republican strategist/consultant Jeff Roe.

Heads Up - Another Judge Stands with illegal aliens!

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is no Andy Griffith with illegals in his community.

Unions now defend aggressive workplace immigration raids - the same groups that complain illegals drive their wages down. Go figure.

Brownback - Holding on to that 1% support for President!

Two critical votes protecting our country and its citizens came to the Senate this week. Where was the good senator from Kansas? How about Obama, Clinton, and McCain? They're too busy running for office to stand up and be counted on the most important votes of our future. No matter the outcome, shouldn't you be on record?

Read about the border security vote Clinton, McCain, and Brownback missed.

Read about the John Doe legislation Brownback and Obama missed last week.

These aren't the only two votes the good senator of Kansas and the others have missed.

Too fat to adopt?

Overwhelmingly, folks that called the show thought the judge should butt out.

The new skinny on why some of us are overweight.

A new study says it's your friends' fault - not your propensity for Lamar's!

The Cat Tracker lawsuit

For twenty years, the driver of the K-State fan bus shuttles Kansas City fans to and from games. A tragic accident killed one and seriously injured another. Wrongful death charge for the driver, or unfortunate accident due to a lack of personal responsibility?

Only in Leawood - the aesthetically-pleasing cell tower!

"Bill" illustrates the importance of the right to bear arms.

Our very own Andrew Yates was the second in what has now been three Overland Park car- jackings. Andy's OK, thank God. Read his story here. Meanwhile, in another part of town the outcome was far different thanks to the Second Amendment.

The Perv. Profs

Truly amazing, though not surprising - liberal academia rewards perversion at UMKC. Out of curiousity, who was the last conservative guest to speak on campus?

Funkhouser is dealt the race card, yet again.

So here's a theory... Mayor Funkhouser is the first white man to run city hall in two decades. Could that be the axe the fringe minority groups in this town have to grind? The mayor wants to cut a better deal that doesn't reward City Manager Cauthen unless he proves his effectiveness. As opposed to his current deal that pays him a healthy sum with no merit basis. Heaven forbid the mayor not play fast and loose with the taxpayers' money. To the minority fringe, the decision to renegotiate a contract means - "Whitey's keeping the black man down."

Tune in tomorrow (7/27) at 7:40 as Funk defends his position yet again...

Race card - Redux...

Another day, another frivolous lawsuit. A black woman in a green Jeep is pulled over and forced to lay on the ground by Independence Police. Why? They were looking for a black woman in a green Jeep - who knocked off a J.C. Pennys. Unfortunately, the cops detained the wrong woman. But because the woman cops detained was pregnant, black, and listening to gospel music - well, obviously Independence cops are bigots. Follow?

News you need to read...

Babs Shelly in today's Kansas City Star laments the "pro-death" country in which we live that executes convicted murderers. An ironic statement from a paper that consistently stands with late-term abortionists and chides their critics as zealots.

A noted anti-death penalty professor at the University of Colorado - Denver studied the effects of the punishment as a crime deterrent. His findings tell a truth even he didn't want to hear. Will someone forward this to Babs?

The stories of two of our military leaders on the ground in Iraq who are begging you and me to be patient with them. They are making progress there, and they need your support. Read General Ray Odierno's statements of the surge success.

Read General Rick Lynch's similar comments in the NY Times on troop successes and the need for more time.

Three judges and the ruling parents need to know.

If you've got young children in your life, you'll be amazed at what three judges did to defend a convicted child molester in Jackson County. Read the story from Friday's Kansas City Star.

The "three judge panel" mentioned in that story, you ask? We actually looked it up for you:

Chief Judge Victor C. Howard
Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District

Office number: 816-889-3626

Lisa White Hardwick
Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District

Office number: 816-889-3611

Judge Robert G. Ulrich
Western District Court of Appeals
Office number: 816-889-3602

Remember the good Democrat congressman Keith Ellison? He's the newly elected representative and Muslim convert from Minnesota who demanded he be sworn in last year on the Koran. Well, Minnesotans are getting what they voted for...

A Tragic Anniversary Today

John Sullivan was a 24-year-old law student in 1981 when his mother was tragically killed along with 113 others in the Hyatt Regency sky walk collapse. Tonight marks the exact date of that tragic event. Now 26 years later John and others want to memorialize those lost with a new website.

The discussion this morning turned to where the memorial be located. How much would it cost? And does it have the public support to proceed. The reviews were mixed.

We stumbled onto a great website for people of all faiths to research, blog, and communicate with others of faith. Laura Sheahen, Chief Religion Editor of Beliefnet.com joined us today to discuss the record $660,000,000 settlement paid by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of L.A. to alleged victims of clergy abuse.

Listen to our rebroadcast of the exclusive interview with Robert Novak, author of "The Prince of Darkness" tomorrow morning (6/18) at 6:30. Purchase his book here via our friends at Borders Books.

Jack and Phil...

When Johnson County DA Phil Kline decided to post our pal Jack Cashill's latest World Net Daily column on his website - the Kansas City Star couldn't resist. You have to ask - If Kline had posted a Star column on his website - wouldst thou doth protest so much?

To be fair, Kansas Attorney General Paul Morrison is concerned with certain lives' protection...

Think your homeowners association is strict? Welcome to Steeplechase in Leawood!

So it turns out Kansas City's city budget really is in trouble?
We're still waiting for official comment from Kay-Cronkite-Waldo-Barnes. Anyone gonna ask her about it?

Another Great Friday with Funk

Next week: Robert Novak on his new book "The Prince of Darkness."

Today we pressed Mayor Funkhouser on yet another Kansas City Star column taking a shot at the way he does business. This time his wife Gloria was in their cross hairs. The Star continues to assert his support of Frances Semler to the Kansas City Parks Board is somehow an endorsement of the "militant group" The Minute Men. It was after this appointment that radicals called city hall threatening the mayor, suggesting he would be somehow attacked at an upcoming town hall meeting in a minority community. Understandably, the Funkhouser family thought it best to have protection for the appearance. You'll not read about the threats in the Star column.

Asked what he thinks about the constant assault on his character by the very paper that endorsed him - Funkhouser said simply, "whatever." Hear the rebroadcast Monday morning at 5:30.

We also talked with Boz Tchividian - one of Dr. Billy and Ruth Graham's grandsons. He shared with us the new website devoted to the impact of Dr. Graham worldwide. Share your personal memories, thoughts, or stories of Dr. Graham on this new website.

Speaking of good works of faith - our hat's off to Linda Wagar and the Fox 4 News folks for covering the story of Joe Howard. A man who did the right thing - and get this - wants nothing for it! In a week of tipsters quibbling over their share of the Kelsey Smith reward fund, it's refreshing to see this story.

Two Congressman and a Broadway Star

Republican Whip and Missouri Congressman Roy Blunt joined us today to address the problems of his party and this Democrat-led Congress' unpopularity across the country. Listen to the rebroadcast of the interview tomorrow at 5:30 AM and read his comments to the Heritage Foundation this week here. Here's a side note on the Blunt family from RedState.com.

Missouri Congressman Sam Graves reinforced his vote two weeks ago to block any attempt at resurrecting the Fairness Doctrine. He suggested no one of either party he's spoken with seems particularly interested in such a move. We know fellow members Boyda (KS) , Cleaver (MO) and Clay (MO) certainly love the idea of government control of radio. Their fellow delegates of Kansas and Missouri - of both parties - disagree with this incredible fringe position. Here's the official letter sent to constituents from Cleaver on this:

Thank you for contacting me about free speech in our nation's radio broadcasting. I appreciate hearing your concerns on this important issue.

As you may know, I am a staunch believer and supporter of the First Amendment, and know the value more of this right having had my own radio show for four years.

Side note: Cleaver's show was featured on the non-rated, not-for profit, government subsidised NPR affiliate in Kansas City.

Ensuring a continued diversity in our nation's media is fundamental to the bedrock of our democracy and will help ensure our First Amendment right of free speech is not stifled. Americans must be able to access news and entertainment from a sufficient variety of sources. Without adequate variety, we lose the ability to get accurate information and leave the American people with incomplete or skewed reports that is tantamount to rumor and hearsay.

Again, thank you for sharing your views with me. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future if I may be of further assistance. Also, I encourage you to visit my website at http://www.house.gov/cleaver/ where you can sign up for my electronic newsletter and receive updates on my latest activities as your Representative.

Sincerely
Emanuel Cleaver, II
Member of Congress

Paige Davis, star of the Starlight's "Sweet Charity" playing now through Sunday talked with us today. Hear the rebroadcast of the interview tomorrow at 6:10AM. Get great seats to the show here.

Eminent Domain, the North American Union and the Fairness Doctrine - God Bless America!

Today we explored the latest in Missouri's ridiculously broad definition of eminent domain. Megan Rolland of the Kansas City Star does a nice job shining light on a subject matter to which every Missourian must pay attention. You could be next....

Mike Mahoney did a story last night at 6PM about the demise of the Kansas City "Smart Port." This, in short, would become a Mexican controlled and owned piece of Kansas City real estate in the West Bottoms that would allow Mexican truckers to check in here instead of the southern border. Why did this reckless plan fail? You got too smart! Here's the broader picture from NewsMax.

Speaking of our borders - did you know the US Census currently counts illegals when determining congressional representation? This currently puts states like Missouri on course to lose a House seat. Congresswoman Jo Ann Emerson springs into action to change this practice.

We learned today from our new friends at "Stay Red Kansas" that newly elected Congresswoman Nancy Boyda sided with His Holiness, Reverend, Doctor, Congressman Emmanuel Cleaver two weeks ago in supporting the Fairness Doctrine. Even their fellow party delegates aren't this radical. These two continue to show just how aggressively liberal they can be.
