Today's The Day - Let's Kill The Bill!

Senator Bond said he would vote NO on cloture today if it comes to a vote. Today, you must make sure he does that. Senator Brownback seems a lost cause, but it can never hurt to let him know Kansans will not forget should he choose to ignore the will of his constituents.

Call both senators Kansas City (area) offices as well as their DC offices and let them know you want a NO vote on cloture today! As Laura Ingraham says - "Power to the People!"

And Then There Were Two

Yesterday's vote to continue debating the Amnesty Bill in the U.S. Senate was a direct slap in the face of every legal American. Predictably, Sam Brownback voted to keep the bill alive. It was to our amazement that Kit Bond suddenly reversed course and did the same. Bond says it's a move to "shine light" on this bill so all could see just how bad it is. If that were the case, one might ask why not just stop it yesterday instead of placing it in a stronger position of potential passage?

Claire McCaskill and Pat Roberts stood with their constituents and voted no on cloture. We know Brownback's motivation in moving forward with this bill. He wants every vote he can get to boost his 1% support for a White House bid. But what was in it for Bond? Stay tuned...

In the mean time - check out our new Office of Government Accountability. This is helpful information to have as "We the People" mobilize to take our country back.

Kansas City's Maria Perry Goes National with Your Votes!

Now in the top three contending for the solo spot - Maria Perry is headed to Boston for the finals of the "POPSearch" competition. Your online votes help push Maria to the finish line when she is judged Thursday night. Listen Friday morning to find out if we helped Maria make the national broadcast on CBS July 4th with the Boston Pops and John Mellencamp. Vote here early and often!

Tune in tomorrow morning (6/26) after 7AM for our exclusive with presidential candidate, Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA) . Congressman Hunter championed the construction of a 700 mile border fence signed into law, now being ignored by the President and many in Congress.

Governor Matt Blunt joined us this morning about his latest trip to Paris and Kansas City. He spoke to the Federalist Society last week about the importance of judges in Missouri interpreting the law, not trying to write it.

Poor Congressman Cleaver. He wanted everyone in Congress to "go green" and agree to lease only hybrid vehicles for official travel. Sadly, his party kicked the idea to the curb. Amazingly, the Democrat will push fuel efficiency standards to bully our American automobile manufacturers. They will push us to conserve energy, force carbon taxes, legislate "green" in all facets of our lives. But take their SUV from them? No, sir!

The Threat To Free Speech is Alive and Well

In what is clearly the opening salvo on talk radio nation wide, the woman who would be President says it's time to "fix" the "problem." Listen to this alarming statement by a fellow senator who overheard Clinton in her own words.

Amazingly, on the same day, news broke from the Federal Elections Commission that "journalists" are donating to the Democrat/liberal agenda by a 9 to 1 margin. Yet talk radio has the supposed "corner" on the political message. Have you read the Kansas City Star lately?!

Don't miss next week as we talk with the Governor of Missouri Matt Blunt, Filmmaker Michael Moore, and Former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist. Plus Bill McCutty returns from Rome and another chat with Mayor Funkhouser on Friday!

Just When You'd Lost All Hope...

In only his third veto as President, George Bush stands his moral ground on science versus life yesterday. That said, he's also the most agressive President in providing and encouraging federal funds in stem-cell research where life is not in question. Investor's Business Daily drives it home...

Channel 9's Joel Nichols called our attention to this one on the global warming lie.

They're baaaaack...

Republican Senators Lindsay Graham and Trent Lott say talk radio and its listeners are "running the country" and thus, ruining their high-minded, thoughtful, 800- plus page immigration reform legislation.

Well, they're at it again this week with a new sales pitch of the same bill. Thankfully, three of our four senators: Bond, McCaskill, and Roberts stand with you on this issue - while Brownback continues to pander for the Hispanic vote to the White House.

Charles Krauthammer keeps it simple for all Americans in his editorial today.

A Leader In Faith

St. Louis Archbishop Raymond Burke shows principled leadership despite "progressive" critics.

You made the difference!

Thanks to your efforts in calls and emails to City Hall yesterday, Kansas City Mayor Mark Funkhouser stood with Frances Semler and her appointment to the parks board.

While to her credit, Deb Hermann ultimately sided with the mayor as did Bill Skaggs, 9 elitist city council members decided to ignore you and side with the radical bureaucrats within C.O.H.O.

While not one media outlet credited you with making the difference in our mayor's decision, make no mistake it was you that did it. He said so in the press conference.

Please take a moment to thank our Mayor for standing with his city's resident majority!

Calling all law-abiding Kansas Citians...

Fances Semler is the newest member of the Kansas City Parks Board. She also happens to be a member of the local Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. Now, six city council members have sided with the radical organization C.O.H.O. (The Coalition of Hispanic Organizations) calling for Semler to step down.

Please call or email the offices of these six Kansas City Council members and tell them to stand against radicals and stand with legal Americans!

Fox 4 Steps Up!

Tom Lawrence and the news staff at Fox 4 are to be commended for their attention to the Tiller tragedy that continues to unfold in Kansas. In an exclusive interview with Dr. Paul McHugh, Fox 4 allowed this 25-year veteran of psychiatry to evaluate and debunk Tiller's claims that he is justified in aborting full-term babies despite state and federal law that bans it.

Using the justification of anxiety and depression of the mothers, Tiller has aborted countless babies at full term. Dr. McHugh has evaluated some of the cases in the investigation and concluded Tiller has no basis for his diagnoses.

We talked with Dr. McHugh this morning. When asked if his analysis was nothing more than a right-wing attack, Dr. McHugh proclaimed he is a registered Democrat and his study of these cases is purely from a professional perspective. Dr. McHugh says he has yet to be contacted by Kansas Attorney General Paul Morrison as part of his "ongoing investigation" of Tiller. We're sure Morrison will make the call any day now...we'll let you know.

Contact Fox 4 and let them know you thank them for covering this important case!

An Exclusive with Former Duke Lacrosse Coach Mike Pressler

For the first time, Pressler speaks about his wrongful termination at Duke and the bogus charges against three of his former players. Ultimately, all were vindicated as Durham, N.C. District Attorney Mike Nifong awaits his punishment for bringing false charges that destroyed four lives and an entire team's reputation. Hear the rebroadcast tomorrow after 8AM (6/13) and read the new book "It's Not About The Truth."

We heard from Kelsey's dad today...

I want to thank Greg Smith, Kelsey's father, for taking a moment to call our show today. His extraordinary composure is something I, certainly most of us can only listen to and watch with admiration, wonder, and great sympathy.

If you're so inclined, visit http://www.kelseysarmy.com/

Similarly, I'd like to thank those of you that read our blog and listen to the program. Your generosity and support of the Dill family helped raise $5000 and the donation of funeral services to help bury their young son. I have posted an email I received from the Dill's family church that was sent to me. I wanted to share it with you.

What a painful week it has been. That said, what an inspiration people can be in times of great trial. We are honored to have such an intelligent, compassionate, and generous audience. I'm headed home to hug my sons - if you've got kids I hope you'll do the same. God bless.

Chris,

Tough subject today, but as usual you are handling it with class. This is off topic, but as a small ray of sunshine in the dark clouds, I thought you'd want to know about the status of the Chris Dill Memorial. Between 350 and 400 people turned out for the community memorial service at Winnetonka High School Tuesday evening. And the memorial fund that you promoted on your show has so far brought in over $5000 for the family. And even one funeral home, Newcomer's White Chapel, offered to provide their services for free.

Like with the Kelsey Smith case, this is another sign that no matter how screwed up the world seems, there are still good people who can come together and stand against the madness. We can take comfort in that, I think. In the news and media business, its the exceptions - the SOB's, as you so eloquently described Hall, that catch the public interest. They make the stories. But look at how many good and decent people turned out to help and stand as a counterpoint to them.

Thank you for being one of that group.

A Not-To-Miss Wednesday (6/6) and Thursday (6/7)...

Join Chris with U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez at 7:30 (Thursday 6/7). The Secretary has the unenviable task of defending the latest immigration legislation to come out of the senate. Hear his answers to your tough questions about this controversial bill.

Just after 8AM (Wednesday 6/6), Chris talks with former U.S. Attorney Todd Graves about his testimony before a senate subcommittee today. The subcommittee has called Graves as part of their continued fruitless investigation of a non-scandal in the Justice Department.

And for good measure, we throw in an Osmond. Donny Osmond and his brand new CD "Love Songs of the 70's" at 6:30 AM (6/6).

ABOUT TODAY'S SHOW (6/5):

Former Missouri Senator Jim Talent joined us this morning from the site of the Republican candidates debate tonight (CNN 6PM - 8 PM). Senator Talent is now a top advisor to the Mitt Romney campaign. We'll have analysis of the debate tomorrow morning.

A new, unauthorized Hillary tell-all by Carl Bernstein has everyone talking. We talked with the author of "A Woman in Charge." Hear the rebroadcast tomorrow (6/6) at 5:30AM.

Charles W. Dunn, Ph.D - dean of the Robertson School of Government at Regent University, Virginia beach has a new read on conservatism. We talked with him today about his new book "The Future of American Conservatism: Consensus and Conflict in the Post-Regan Era." Hear the rebroadcast 8:30 AM Thursday (6/7).

Many have been interested in Chris' Monday conversation with Burton Hersh, author of "Bobby and J. Edgar: The Historic Face-Off Between the Kennedys and Hoover That Transformed America"
